Symposium

Discussions will tackle the most pressing issues for te reo Māori today, from bridging the reo divide, raising children with te reo at home, and the evolution of dialects, to challenges of tokenism, accessibility, and creating genuine pathways for all learners.

The programme also explores innovation through AI, the role of whānau and rangatahi, and the resilience needed to keep the reo thriving. Alongside these courageous conversations, audiences will experience the vitality of te reo through live performances, debates, waiata composition panels, and creative showcases, leaving attendees inspired, challenged, and energised.
